helping you remember SAT definitions... the dirty way

adroit

adroit (adj.) – skillful; resourceful; great with hands and/or body

for your edification:  You’re just going to have to go on a little journey with me for this one.  Let’s go there.  So, adroit sounds (to me) an awful lot like “Detroit”, don’t you think?  Do they call Detroit “the ‘droit”? If they don’t, they should.  Totally.  So, in your head, when you see “adroit," you need to automatically think of Detroit (or “the ‘droit”, if you’re ready to start that revolution with me).  Oh, and one more thing:  you automatically need to associate Detroit with skillful, resourceful, great with their hands and/or bodies inhabitants.  It can be those carmakers if you want.  It can be one of those guys from one of those sports teams that hail from the ‘droit.  But, in our heads, Detroit = adroit = awesome.  Super-skilled.  Really great at things.

examplification -  Crazy Gina:  I could watch those baseball players from the ‘droit all day.  They are completely adroit with their skillful hands, never dropping a ball.

Birthmark Tony:  Those are football players.
