helping you remember SAT definitions... the dirty way

hiatus

hiatus (n.) –  an interruption or break in action

for your edification:  You know how you’ve got those friends who tend to disappear for a day or ten, and then they return surrounded by a bitter cloud of Cheetos, ganja, and missed opportunity?   Yeah, and then when you ask those friends what happened to them they let out, like, a burp/giggle and they call you “dude” or “bro” or “homesliz”, followed by another burp/giggle, and then they stare into your soul and they’re like, “The high ate us.”

Well, thanks to those adorably goal-less stoners, you’ll never forget the definition of “hiatus” again.  Just as those wayward drughound youth* reveal that their break was the result of when the “high ate us,” (them!) you can easily remember that “hiatus” means a break or an interruption.

examplification -   Rodrigo:  Dude!  What the hell happened to the last four days of our lives, and why are you eating my cat’s Tasty Feast?

Trey the Hippie:   That interruption in our lives was a hiatus, bro.  The high ate us.  And this here is pretty badass cat food, dude.  Salmon flavored.  You gotta try some.

* and furthermore, you are going to dominate those dopeclowns on the SAT, amiright?  Amiright?
