helping you remember SAT definitions... the dirty way

actuate

actuate (v.) – to move to action; to activate; to motivate

for your edification:  Not all these of these are fun or gross or even interesting.  This one’s just kinda short and sweet.  Say “actuate.”  It’s really close to actual, and that’s pretty much what it means:  to make actual.  Another word for this is activate, and another is motivateActuateto make actual.  It wasn't a thing, and then you moved to action - actuated it - and then it was a thing.  Isn’t that easy?  Actuate/activate/motivate. Again.  Actuate/activate/motivate.   Shazam.

examplificationPaco:  I finally convinced Birthmark Tony to actuate a relationship with a real-life actual girl.

Gary:  For real? You always motivate, Dude.

Paco:  Yo, I just told him if he ever wanted to activate his “little Tony” to take a trip into Crazy Gina’s promise land, he was gonna need to actuate his efforts and move to some action.

Gary:  Word.
