enervate

enervate (v.) – to weaken; to destroy the strength of

for your edification:  There are some people who just get on your nerves, right?  It’s like, when you’re around those people who get on your nerves, they are just weakening you.  It’s like those people who are all up on your nerves are just, like, destroying all of your strength.  If there’s someone around you who gets all up on your nerves, weakening and sucking the strength all out of you, they are eNERVating you. (You see what we did there?  Nerves.  Enervate.  ENERVate.  Okay.  Yeah.  Just making sure.)

examplification  - Gina:  I am so irate.  I was all pumped up to ace my physics test, but then our walking rectum of a physics teacher started making that grotesque whistling sound out of his nose during the whole exam, and he weakened all of my test-taking powers.  Gah!  He gets on my nerves so bad!

Crystal: You totally let that human sphincter enervate you.  Nasal whistling is destroying the fiber of humanity worldwide.

Gina:  Completely.
