helping you remember SAT definitions... the dirty way

impetuous

impetuous (adj.) – impulsive; suddenly rash or forceful

for your edification:  Remember “petulant”?  Remember how we discussed that you could remember the definition of petulant by imagining the way that some guys (or gals – no one’s gonna accuse us of getting sexist up in here) get all irritable and babyish if they aren’t being lent any pets by you?  Well, this is petulant’s first cousin.  Think of “impetuous” as the impulsive, suddenly rash or forceful decision you made to do some petting in order to avoid that guy (or gal; again – sexism-free since 2003!) becoming all petulant and whiney. You were impulsive; it was suddenly rash of you to make the imPETuous decision to do that petting. (Im-PET-you-wuz, huh?)  It really was kinda dumb, if you think about it.  I mean, you coulda just been like, “Stop whining.  I do not have interest in petting you.  Not there, or there, and especially not there.  You’re pretty petulant, and I don’t feeling like impulsively touching your dirty parts in an impetuous act of petting just because you’re acting like a baby.”   Next time some petulant guy or gal is whining at you and trying to get you to act impetuously, don’t be impulsive.  Tell that petulant jerkweasel to pet him/herself.

examplification  - Mitzi:  Poor Janet.  She was a little too impetuous when Toolface Billy got all petulant, crying real tears because she wasn’t petting his little Billy.

Muffy:  She was also a little too impetuous when she let Toolface Billy put his little Billy into her Janetalia.

Mitzi:  It’s a good thing she didn’t grow a little Toolfetus Billy in her Janetalia because of her impetuous, rash behavior.

Muffy:  Her rash behavior did lead to a messy little rash on her Janetalia.

Mitzi:  Toolface Billy needs to take better care of his tool.

Muffy:  Wait.  What?
