helping you remember SAT definitions... the dirty way

acumen

acumen (n.) – mental keenness; insight

for your edification:  Do you cook?  Not so much me.  I do own a spice rack, however, and featured prominently on that spice rack is a proud little spice called cumin. Cumin helps me remember the definition of acumen, and that spicy little spice is going to help you, too.  Let’s pretend if we eat a lot of cumin, we will gain profound insight (mental keenness!) that others will identify as acumen

examplification - Joe:  That girl Paula in my algebra class thinks she’s so smart because she’s never missed a math problem.

Rodrigo:   There’s a reason for that, dude.  Paula has incredible acumen because her mom sprinkles cumin on all her food.  Her breath stinks, but she’s got profound insight.  Her boobs are decent, too.

Joe:  Agreed.
